{"id":219,"date":"2010-09-29T15:47:20","date_gmt":"2010-09-29T22:47:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oregonstate.edu\/sustainability\/blog\/?p=219"},"modified":"2010-09-29T15:47:20","modified_gmt":"2010-09-29T22:47:20","slug":"bike-valet-service-offered-at-osu-football-games","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/ecologue\/2010\/09\/29\/bike-valet-service-offered-at-osu-football-games\/","title":{"rendered":"Bike valet service offered at OSU football games"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Corvallis High School hopes to raise enough money to generate its own electricity by installing solar panels, helping Corvallis reach its goal of becoming a net energy producer with 100% of all energy produced from renewable energy by 2025.\u00a0 Although the school has received significant grants, they still need to raise additional funds to meet their goal.\u00a0 Hoping to add a 10-kilowatt system each year for the next 10 years, students are launching a new fundraising effort.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Corvallis High School Green Club is offering Bike Valet Service at Reser Stadium for the remaining OSU home games<\/strong> (Oct. 2 and 30, Nov. 13 and 20, and Dec. 4).\u00a0 The valet opens <strong>one hour before game time<\/strong>. The entrance is located <strong>near gate E, on the SW side of the stadium<\/strong>. Green Club members are encouraging attendees to ride their bikes to the game, reduce the amount of time they wait and the number of idling cars waiting to get out of the lot.\u00a0 Club members will watch over the bikes in a safe area underneath the stadium, and\u00a0users get to ride to the door and pick up their bikes quickly.\u00a0 The service is free, but Green Club members will be asking for donations to go toward purchase of more solar panels.
