This year\u2019s Pac-12 Sustainability Conference, at University of Colorado Boulder, resulted in some very exciting news! Unifi, Inc<\/a>. and the Pac-12<\/a> Conference announced their long-term partnership in which Unifi will sponsor the annual Pac-12 Sustainability Conference and serve as the founding partner for the new Pac-12 Team Green<\/span>. Richard Gerstein, Executive Vice President of premium value-added brands and Global Chief Marketing and Innovation Officer at Unifi, and Jay Hertwig, Group Vice President of global branded sales at Unifi, served as keynote speakers at the conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unifi will provide grant funding to all twelve Conference member institutions \u201cto support sustainability initiatives and increase recycling efforts\u201d and collaboration with the Pac-12 to create custom promotional materials and media assets to promote sustainability programs and support efforts to recycle billions of plastic bottles into fiber. Unifi will also serve as an official sponsor for all Pac-12 championship events.<\/span><\/p>\n

About the Pac-12 Team Green<\/span><\/h3>\n

Pac-12 Team Green is the very first collegiate athletics conference sustainability platform designed to promote all sustainability efforts on and around Pac-12 campuses; components of the Team Green include the Pac-12 Sustainability Conference, the Pac-12 Zero Waste Competition, and the Pac-12 Sustainability Working Group. The Pac-12 Zero Waste Competition includes the events <\/span>Pac-12 Football Zero Waste Bowl and Basketball Road to Zero Waste, where Pac-12 campuses compete against each other to hold zero waste home games in each sport. The Sustainability Working Group <\/span>unites leaders from all 12 of the Conference\u2019s member campuses from both athletics and sustainability.
