Dakota Steen is a first generation college student and 4-year (soon to be 5) Division 1 Student Athlete in Track & Field for the 400m Hurdles.
She graduated with honors in June 2018 with a Bachelors of Science in Natural Resources – Recreation Management. Her roots reside in central Oregon, abundant with outdoor activities and natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest. In her free time, she can be found snowboarding on the slopes of Mt. Bachelor or playing the piano by ear to some of her favorite songs. The Environmental Arts & Humanities program drew her in as a way to bridge the gap between the science of recreation impacts on public lands and the social justice issues that surround the people recreate in them. Specifically, she wants to focus on the narrative surrounding alter-abled individuals and the accessibility or opportunity challenges they face.
