Welcome to Douglas County OSU Extension Farm to School! Douglas County OSU Extension applied for and received a grant between March 2020 and May 2020 from Oregon Department of Education through the Farm to Child Nutrition Program (formerly Farm to School). With this grant, we are able to serve around 3000 students from three schools through garden, agriculture, and nutrition education.
The goal of Oregon Farm to School is to provide education as well as boosting the local agricultural economy. By creating a bridge between farms and schools, we are increasing the health of our community by providing farm fresh produce, but also educating families on how to grow their own produce, providing highly nutritious foods to our tables.
