Well in todays blog post I will talk about my current career and my planned career.

Currently I work fulltime at a large Aerospace Company in Washington. It has always been a goal to find a job just like the one that I have now which checks off all the boxes that I was seeking. Great pay, great benefits, great projects to work on and a great company. The idea of working in this type of position was fed into us as a young age. Go get a degree so that you can go and get a great job and work 9-5 so that you can retire at 65 and live the rest of your life freely. And that is what I was going for throughout college as a student that majored in Aerospace Engineering. Now cut to 5 years post college and living that life. I want more and I want to do it in something I have more interest in. I want to be able to run my own company and work for myself. I no longer want to work for some other company that benefits more off of my work than I do putting in the time and effort 40 hours a week.

So my future career I want to be my own boss and work on the projects that I have interest in. I had a big interest in computer programming so I decided to go back to school to get a second bachelors in Computer Science. I may even go for a masters degree in Computer Science in the next few years as well. But, now just one term away from finishing my second bachelors I have gain the skills that I think I need to become a great programmer and make the projects that I wanted to build come into fruition. So once this term is over I will begin my path into building a project and hopefully making money off of it and becoming successful. If not I also plan to freelance programming jobs to get better and live off of that. Lastly, if none off this works out I would have developed enough experience working on computer programming type projects where I can hopefully become a Computer Programmer and get paid well. But then I would have gone full circle back into working 9-5 at a large company where they would benefit more off of my work than I would. At least I would get to be working in a different type of industry that I wanted to do….
