Keywords of AI Survey
In February 2022, our team sent a survey to a number of computer scientists to gain insights on what they thought about certain AI related terms, such as “bias”, “fairness”, and “deep learning”. We received a large number of responses and are now thematically coding definitions and analyzing responses. Stay posted for updates!
Rationale
We’re interested in improving the collaboration between computer scientists, anthropologists, and other humanists in diverse teams focused on AI research. How can we ensure that scientists from different fields are on the same page and sharing an understanding and respect for each other’s contribution? We believe attention to how each field defines its key terms is an essential first step. For this reason, we have designed this short survey to appreciate your definition or understanding of a few key terms often used in or related to AI design and use.
