Hello Folks!

This will be my final quarter at Oregon State University and I hope to have something cool to show from this course. My group is looking to make a Web Project this quarter which is very exiting. We all appear to all be on the same page regarding our expectations and goals for this project, so I think the Quarter will go smoothly. We ultimately chose a project list consisting of various Web Development projects, including some cross platform applications.

I would to like to do something with web development professionally, so I am always enthusiastic to get web development experience with popular technologies. Our group is considering using React-Native for our fronted which will be an interesting choice for development. We have moderate Reactjs experience and I think this will translate well to React Native. We also are considering using Flutter for our application. Though our group does not have much experience with this technology, we are willing to consider it and learn it if we feel it is a good fit. From minimal online research, it looks like flutter has more features and better performance, while React-native is a more popular framework. If we end up requiring a backend, it is likely that our group will use express, as we are all familiar with. Whatever technologies we do end up using, I’m sure we will be successful.

My major goal for this quarter is to increase my familiarity with Web development frameworks, and to produce an impressive portfolio piece so that I can get a job. I’m psyched that this course provides me an opportunity to do just that and will keep you updated here regarding my CS467 journey.
