For my current job, I wasn’t given much of a job description. I came in for an interview to be an assistant reporting to the CFO. I really didn’t know what I was supposed to be doing on my job until my first day of work. I was originally meant to scan accounting paperwork, then my role expanded to helping out the accounting staff and the sales executives.
In my previous experiences, my job descriptions were given to me verbally. They just tell me, and I just show up and do the work. When it came to my state fair job selling pearl jewelry, I was lucky to be referred to by a friend and she described her own experience to me.
