Organizations allocate more of their resources more towards product design and marketing, rather than recruiting and selection because they want to be ahead of the competition. They are wrapped up in staying ahead of the competition, that they fail to invest in more in cultivating their talent. It can be a major weak spot for organizations because it could lead to low morale and poor quality of work. Making money can be a good thing, but what is the point if you’re not investing more in people who could make your organization better.
A potential strength in organizations not prioritizing their recruitment and selection is they get to have competitive advantage over their competitors. Some weaknesses would be incurring costs of hiring and litigation, and losing time from correcting mistakes. Both of these weaknesses could lead to the downfall of the business.
