On August 29th the Curry Educational Greenhouse & Garden (CEGG) hosted a workshop, presented by Julia Bott and Diana Gorman, on how to make your garden a year-round source of fresh produce! This workshop explored what to plant in the late summer for a successful fall, winter, and spring harvest. Seasonal techniques to extend yield; strategies for reducing pest pressure, and ways to nurture and protect your garden\u2019s soil through the winter months were all discussed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some vegetable starts were planted in the CEGG gardens and starts were also shared with participants, so that they might put these season-extension techniques into practice right away. The attendees\u2019 comments, rapport, and hands-on help made a welcome difference and will help with planning future gathering\/teaching experiences and workshops at CEGG.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
