This is a project that is gathering\/disseminating information on the effects of a shifting climate, particularly as observed by Oregon gardeners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>May is a good time to check and repair any irrigations that you may count on over the summer. Vegetable planting recommendations from the garden calendar link includes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Oregon coast: Snap beans, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cantaloupes, pickling cucumbers, dill, kale, parsnips, peppers, pumpkins, summer and winter squash, sweet corn and tomatoes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Very good reads specific to our area are <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.oregonstate.edu\/catalog\/em-9695-growing-vegetables-pacific-northwest-coastal-region\"><u>Growing vegetables in the Pacific Northwest coastal region <\/u><\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/extension.oregonstate.edu\/catalog\/em-9499-best-vegetables-grow-oregons-coastal-climate\"><u>The best vegetables to grow in Oregon&#8217;s coastal climate.<\/u><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In June, if you planted early vegetables then, harvesting\/thinning new plantings of lettuce, onion and chard will improve later production. Trellises for tomatoes and vines can also be more easily done now.
