Congratulations to the CCMGA! Attendance is up at our monthly meetings (and at other activities as well.) At our April 21, 2026, meeting, according to the records of our Co-Secretary Laura Lee Cundiff, we had eighteen in attendance, which is more than the typical attendance from the past. This is encouraging, and it is consistent with a goal for greater participation set by the officers of the club at a December 2025 meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the April Meeting I was able to wear a new garden shirt which my wife gave me just for fun. It has a picture of a hoe and a bag of dirt, and it reads: \u201cI spend my free time with hoes and dirt bags.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was excited to attend the CCMGA banner hanging festivities on April 4th, at the CEGG in Gold Beach. The banner, with its 4 x 16-foot dimensions, and excellent placement next to the greenhouse on Moore Street in Gold Beach, will provide significant exposure for our club, and some of our activities. This was made possible by the hard work of a number of CCMGA members, and to me, the banner is a tribute to them. For your reference, a picture of the banner is attached to this article. A huge thank you to Paul Maree for his work on the design of the banner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Our annual plant sale will likely have occurred before this article has been published. This will be our primary fundraiser for the year. Thank you to all of those who have made this sale possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I would like to conclude this brief newsletter with a couple of discussion points. First, several members suggested that CCMGA on occasion hold its monthly meetings in Brookings and Port Orford. How do you feel about this? If we meet in Brookings and Port Orford, where specifically should we meet? Second, we need to begin planning for our annual social event in August. Where should we have this activity? What should we plan? Does anyone wish to host this event at their home and garden? Please let me know what you think about these topics. My contact information is available from the CCMGA membership list sent out by Lori Phelan in March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
