Our Children Oregon Internships/Fellowships

Equity in Policy Internship & Fellowship Program

Our Children Oregon advances equitable policy-making and whole-child advocacy statewide to ensure our children and youth have what they need, regardless of their race, their ability, or where they live, to thrive by activating meaningful change for children and families.

The Fellowship Program is designed for graduate students to expand and build upon their policy and research knowledge within child welfare, issues impacting child well-being in Oregon and nationally, the implementation of state policies, and the elevation of data/research. Fellows deepen the work of OCO with a project-based fellowship that aligns with their interests and academic needs. Fellowship durations vary from 6 to 12 months. This is a paid opportunity.

Depending on the intern’s/fellow’s interest and focus area, the intern/fellow will report to the corresponding program manager. The intern/fellow will also have the opportunity to engage with
and learn from all Our Children Oregon team members. The corresponding program manager meets with the intern/fellow to discuss the previous work completed, confirm tasks, and track progress on learning goals as needed. All work can be done virtually, but there are opportunties to meet in-person if time and location allow.
