Compensation as Motivation

As I have gotten older and encountered more expenses, wether it be having to start paying for gas after getting my license, or other random expenses, I have found the need for a job. Throughout my life, I have had various jobs, and there has also been times where when searching for a job, I have applied to various places at once. On top of that, there has been times where I have been offered multiple jobs at once too. When it comes down to actually accepting a job offer although, there are a few factors that always lead me to my conclusion. Firstly, one of the main factors is the job type, and the work that is expected in the role. As I am still fairly young, I haven’t had too much job experience in the field regarding my major, more so, entry level jobs. Hence, usually I go for jobs that are more low maintenance, as they also work better with my school schedule. However, the main factor that contributes to my decision on accepting or declining a job is the compensation. For example, currently I work in a part time role, only a few hours a week. I get paid once a month, and not very much. With all the expenses that I also have, such as rent, gas, utilities, I have made the executive decision to leave my current job, and get another one where I am compensated more. While I did like the current job I had as well, I decided to leave purely because of the compensation. In a job, compensation is not the only factor that motivates me, but I would say it is a big part.
