Commencement for the Class of 2010 to be held Sunday

June 7th, 2010

The 49 graduates in OSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2010 will have their commencement ceremony Sunday, June 13, in Austin Auditorium at LaSells Stewart Center on campus. This will be the 28th class of DVMs graduating from OSU. Beginning at 1:30 p.m., faculty marshals Drs. Aurora Villarroel and Jorge Vanegas will lead the graduates into the auditorium. Later in the ceremony they’ll be hooded by Drs. John Schlipf and Jennifer Warnock. This will be the final academic event for the Class of 2010.

Dean Cyril Clarke, OSU President Dr. Ed Ray, Oregon Senator Douglas Whitsett, Dr. Dalton Miller-Jones of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education and Ruth McDevitt, Class of 2010, will make comments.

Dr. Elena Gorman will give the faculty address and Dr. Bernard Séguin will give the keynote address. Presentation of the Class of 2010 will be given by Dr. Susan Tornquist, Associate Dean of Student and Academic Affairs. OSU President Dr. Ed Ray will confer the degrees. Hooding of the new DVMs will be made by Drs. John Schlipf and Jennifer Warnock. The veterinary oath will be given by Dr. Keith Sides, President, Oregon Veterinary Medical Association.
