Expecting a lengthy page about how I’ve always loved to tinker with computers and write software programs throughout years of experience? If so, let me be the first to admit that I NEVER thought I would learn anything related to computers beyond helping my paralegals get their new printers set up. But alas, here I am, in my mid-thirties, thinking, “You know what else I should add to my 2020 bingo card besides a global pandemic, a politically divided family, and….if I remember right…killer bees? Let’s hit the pause button on my law career for the time being so I can learn to code.”
You know that awesome auntie who shows up at your holiday gatherings, no husband or children to speak of but enough dogs (or cats) to make up for both, drinks too much wine but will slide you a bottle under the table as long as you indulge her with nostalgic conversations about video games or pop culture references you’re honestly too young to remember? That’s me. I’m auntie.
A northwest native and high-functioning introvert, I am often torn between indoor activities such as reading fantasy books or running dungeons with my wildly inappropriate online guild, and outside activities such as hiking, kayaking, or hanging on for dear life while my dogs pull me at 100 mph on our “walks.” No matter what I’m doing, I’m most likely following it with a quick pitstop at Barnes & Noble then ending the day with Mexican food smothered in sour cream. There’s never enough sour cream.
Overall, my life has not changed significantly. Add the cherished activity of spending hours trying to find where my code broke, seconds away from throwing my computer screen out the window, only to find I forgot a semicolon…and you’re pretty much all caught up on my personal life. Check out my blog posts for more interesting topics, including my not-so-smooth transition from the legal field to software engineering. Don’t worry. Pictures of my dogs will be included.
