We recently got assigned to our capstone teams and I am happy to say that I was assigned to my project of choice. It will be a stock market algorithm/analysis program used to try and improve the rate of return from our coach’s algorithm. The project sponsor is someone from outside of OSU who has been trading for many years and is excited to see what we can come up with to improve his algorithm

I’m really excited to start jumping into the project as we will be using a lot of different tools that I haven’t been able to explore a lot of yet. These include some stock market-specific tools to get data and run our algorithms against actual stock movements from the past. This will allow us to compare results based on actual data. If time permits we might also dive into machine learning a little to see if we can improve the algorithm with ML.

Overall its been a fun week where I met my team and got a good overview of what we will be working on in the future!
