Teamwork and Communication

Throughout my final project, I’ve sometimes realized that I am not as good at communication as I think that I am. I have made some mistakes, and I’ll list them here so that hopefully someone can benefit from my advice.

  1. Not wanting to say when you are stuck:

I had more than a few times during the project where I was stuck on an issue, but I wanted to be able to solve it myself. This caused delays, and I learned that it’s better to just ask in case they have already figured out your issue, thereby saving your project valuable time.

2. Not wanting to admit a mistake

This one is also quite important; when I would make a mistake in the project, and I could see that it would cause issues down the road, I would sometimes not want to bring it up and be the bearer of bad news. But! The key is, you should just bring it up anyways, since we’ll be needing to fix the problem no matter what.
