Hello all! I wanted to share some more insight into the job search, and my experience with it.
We’ve all heard that for interviews you should be a friendly, personable person and a big part of interviews is connecting with the interviewers right? My experience thus far in interviews has been somewhat far from this. Sometimes it really does feel like all that matters is what you know technical wise, and you can have any old personality you like.
Now, that’s great for people that aren’t very big into talking with others! But for me, I kind of wish that I could feel like the people interviewing me actually cared if I seemed friendly or not, what my passions and goals are in life, who I am as a person instead of just what I know.
I know that may be a far fetched belief, but let me know if you feel the same way. I’m hoping that I’m able to find a job where my ability to befriend and be able to talk to others is deemed an important characteristic.
