Advice on googling errors

Here’s a couple things things I wish I knew about how to google errors that you get.

Googling is a very important skill, especially for trouble shooting why something you’re using isn’t working.

One thing you can do to narrow your results is put part of the search in quotes, to only return results that include those words specifically.

Another thing that I learned is, if you’re not finding any results that you’re liking, try a different search engine! Just last night google wasn’t working, I tried firefox and duckduckgo, and low and behold the same search yielded different results, one of them being a documentation page with the information that I needed!

Finally, creating a hotkey shortcut to automatically search in a new tab for whatever you highlighted has worked wonders for me in googling errors. Here’s some information on how to do that.
