{"id":84,"date":"2017-01-18T07:00:57","date_gmt":"2017-01-18T07:00:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/coastaltourism\/?p=84"},"modified":"2017-01-19T17:02:01","modified_gmt":"2017-01-19T17:02:01","slug":"net-2017-conference-call-proposals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.oregonstate.edu\/coastaltourism\/net-2017-conference-call-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"NET 2017 Conference Call for Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 align=\"center\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cpe.rutgers.edu\/images\/Tourism-Conference-Resized.jpg?w=770\" alt=\"National Extension Tourism Conference: Tourism in the 21st Century\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3 align=\"center\"><strong>About the 2017 NET Conference<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/extensiontourism.net\"><strong> http:\/\/extensiontourism.net<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>This conference is an outstanding opportunity for Extension professionals and others working in the broad area of tourism and recreation \u2013 including tourism service providers and businesses \u2013 to share programs, initiatives, research, and success stories, and to network with other professionals.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">This year\u2019s theme, <strong>\u201cTourism in the 21st Century: Connecting Communities, Places, and People,\u201d<\/strong> focuses on the important role that tourism plays in many aspects of communities, places, and people.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Topical areas include:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Nature\u2010Based Tourism: Ecotourism, Wildlife\u2010watching, and Adventure Tourism<\/li>\n<li>Agritourism \u2013 Local Foods, Farmers Markets, Culinary Tourism, and Farm Stays<\/li>\n<li>Cultural-Heritage Tourism<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and Promotion \u2013 the Digital Revolution<\/li>\n<li>The Shared Economy<\/li>\n<li>Placemaking<\/li>\n<li>Community and Regional Planning and Development<\/li>\n<li>Economic, Environmental, and Social Impacts of Tourism and Recreation<\/li>\n<li>Tourism Education, Training, and Certification Programs<\/li>\n<li>Tourism Research and Evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Call for Proposals<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We invite you to submit a proposal for presentation at the conference!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Presentation Types<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Oral Presentation (20 minute presentation with 5-10 minutes for Q&amp;A)<\/li>\n<li>Poster Presentation \u2013 The standard poster size is 36 x 48.<\/li>\n<li>Workshop Presentation (60 minutes) \u2013 Workshops should not just be extended oral presentations, as these should include an interactive component providing hands-on experiential opportunities for professional development.
