The&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brookingsharborchamber.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brookings-Harbor Chamber of Commerce<\/a>&nbsp;also has some information, as does the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brookings.or.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Brookings City Hall<\/a>. The Brookings Chamber is located at the Port in Brookings-Harbor; City Hall in downtown Brookings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are part of the the Wild Rivers Coast, which involves two marketing efforts: The first is the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gowildriverscoast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GO Wild Rivers Coast<\/a>, which promotes from Port Orford in Oregon south to Klamath in California. The second is the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/traveloregon.com\/places-to-go\/regions\/wild-rivers-coast\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wild Rivers Coast Promotion<\/a>&nbsp;via Travel Oregon which promotes from Bandon in Coos Bay, Oregon to Brookings in Curry County, Oregon. We are also part of regional efforts known as&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/visittheoregoncoast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The People&#8217;s Coast<\/a>&nbsp;and through the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.southernoregon.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southern Oregon Visitors Association<\/a>.<strong>Wild and Scenic Rivers<\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;Curry County is home to 5 National Wild and Scenic Rivers: Elk, Rogue, Illinois, Chetco, and North Fork Smith\u2014all renowned for their clear water, salmon runs, and recreation opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Visit the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.gowildriverscoast.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GO Wild Rivers Coast<\/a>&nbsp;website and download their free app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilderness.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Wilderness Area<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;&#8211;&nbsp;Curry County is home to 4 wilderness areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilderness.net\/NWPS\/wildView?WID=287\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kalmiopsis Wilderness<\/a>, known for its rugged terrain, rare plants, and wil dirvers (Illinois, Chetco, and North Fork Smith)<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilderness.net\/NWPS\/wildView?WID=651\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Wild Rogue&nbsp;Wilderness<\/a><strong>,<\/strong>&nbsp;known for the legendary river that flows through its center<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilderness.net\/NWPS\/wildView?WID=218\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grassy Knob Wilderness<\/a>&nbsp;&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilderness.net\/NWPS\/wildView?WID=716\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Copper Salmon Wilderness<\/a>, known for intact, old-growth forests that protect elk River&#8217;s renowned salmon habitat<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These are pristine areas, so please leave no trace!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From Curry Counties online information&#8230;.Curry County&#8217;s Destination Strategic Plan is something we are proud to provide to the community, along with assistance from our partners.
