Duo Mandatory Update

The first wave of students who will be Duo mandatory is next Wednesday, October 23rd. We expect to see an uptick in Duo requests next week. (For the full Duo schedule, see https://is.oregonstate.edu/duo/students )

Current Numbers

As of this afternoon, the numbers of people who still need to sign up before 10/23 were as follows:

  • Currently enrolled students: 1,456
    • Bend: 88
    • Corvallis: 1,079
    • Ecampus: 277
    • LaGrande: 2
    • Portland: 6
  • All Active ONID accounts: 4,599 (includes the 1,456 number)

Duo Phone Split

Starting Tuesday, we will re-enable the Duo option on the 78787 phone menu, and Duo project team members will be helping us take calls on that phone split. We will assign some folks from the Service Desk to sign into the 203 phone split for Tuesday and Wednesday, as needed.

Distance Students and Hardware Tokens

An email notice went out today to students who are not in Corvallis, reminding them that they should get a hardware token or Yubikey if their phone cannot support the Duo mobile app. Unfortunately, shipping from the Beaver store is 3-5 business days, so the email reminder may have come too late for anyone in the 10/23 group who waited this long to sign up. The Duo project team are aware of this issue and will discuss possible work-arounds early next week.
