New Plan for CN Customer Equipment

When new equipment comes in for CN customers, we will start immediately delivering any parts that can be delivered to the customer.

Please keep items such as laptop power adapters and docking stations with the computer as needed to properly complete the build. All other items such as monitors, sound bars, etc. can be delivered to the customer ahead of time.

Note that this doesn’t apply to off-campus customers (Extension, AES) as those items need to be shipped and are best kept together until the computer is ready to go out.

Most Important Thing: regardless of where the customer’s equipment is located, update the ticket to clearly indicate where it is. Save time and frustration for your fellow technicians. Thank you!

New DocuSign Print Driver as of June 25, 2018

DocuSign is ending support for TLS 1.0 and weak cipher as of June 25th, 2018.

As such, several DocuSign products have been updated, including the DocuSign print driver.

Why we care: there are 95 OSU users running older versions of the print driver. As of June 25th, they will no longer be able to print to DocuSign. These users have been notified this week and may contact the Service Desk for assistance installing the latest driver.

Note: the installer requires local admin access. If the user doesn’t have local admin and the computer is not CN-supported, please refer them to their IT team.

Updates to Build Tracker

Good Evening Colleagues,

I have recently added some features to Build Tracker and they are now live.

  • Build Location now displays relevant locations
  • TDx Asset information retrieval
  • Minor updates to instructions

Build Location:

Prior to this update, the “Build Location” column in the list of was rarely filled in, and quite frankly, not helpful. Now that builds are scattered around across multiple rooms, I feel it’s especially important to be able to keep better tabs on where each build is. With this update, you’ll be able to set your desk location as the location of the build. These desk locations pull directly from Teamdynamix, so any changes to those in the future should be reflected in Build Tracker.

To set a specific location, set “Build Location” to “Technician Desk”, and the “Specific Location” dropdown will appear. Then simply select your desk and click save. This will update the entry in Build Tracker as well as update the Teamdynamix Ticket.

Asset Retrieval:

In our transition from Inventory to Teamdynamix Assets, I have implemented a button in Build Tracker Interviews that will retrieve Asset information. It works identically as retrieving Inventory data, albeit slightly slower in response.

Thank you, and let me know if you have any questions.

It’s time for the Spring LAN party. Please join us the Friday of final’s week for PC games, console games and tabletop – or just to hang out with your fellow IT folks.
