ONID / Google account changes – September 12th

Directory User Principal Names (UPN), student primary email addresses, and UPN updates for a subset of other users.  It is anticipated that the set of changes will take approximately 12 hours on that date.

 

A summary of what is changing is as follows

o   If a graduate student account is pending unification and the UPN has already been assigned to the non-ONID account, no account update will occur.

  • UPN on ONID accounts for Employee & Associates that are located in the ONID OU in AD and do NOT have an existing identity match (PIDM) will be set to user@oregonstate.edu

OSU Cascades tech support changes – Starting Wednesday, 9/16/2015, tech support calls and emails from OSU Cascades in Bend will be directed to OCH and CN call centers in Corvallis. Please be kind to the OSU Cascades folks!

Some Stats For Fun and Profit

  • We processed 628 new tickets last week across all Client Services queues.
  • Josh Zheng had the most tickets at 76. (I feel like he should win something…)
  • The call center handled 793 calls – 320 in OCH, and 473 in CN.
  • We had 13 survey results and they were all positive; 2 had constructive feedback but were otherwise positive.

Friday September 11th – Library building closed – Library in-service day

Tomorrow, Friday September 11th, the library building is closed. The library staff are in an all-day in-service/training day.

For those without a key to enter the library, for entry to the building , do 1 of 2 things

  • Go to the west side of the Library and the loading dock
    1. Call 541-737-8788
      1. Let one of the call center crew know you need in the building and are at the loading dock
  • Go to the library main doors
    1. Call 541-737-2901
      1. Let one of the Service Desk crew know you need in the building and that you are at the front door

Morning shift

  • I will be at the library loading dock tomorrow from ~7:50-8:05 tomorrow to let people in.

Resolved Issues

  • The printer in 119 didn’t get documented in the initial walk-through, was hard-coded and wasn’t registered in Cyder with the correct Mac address.
  • There was one user with a converged account who wasn’t getting printers (onid\kellshan) because the GPO wasn’t applied to onid.oregonstate.edu/onid/_tss/Auxiliaries and Activities Business Center.
  • Marcia Ward was getting printers but couldn’t print. Turns out she could print to the Ricohs but not the HP because Robin had just restarted it.

Unresolved Issues
When moving ports Tim identified another occupant, Student Affairs. I will follow up with them and get them scheduled to move over to new core.
