Well, it finally came. Time for pulling data from the forms I wrote and moving them to our database client. We’re using AWS for all this and so far, it’s moving along pretty well. I’m adding farms okay now, and they’re populating on the database, but I’m still having a little trouble adding jobs.
Luckily one of my teammates made a fantastic Google Doc that walks through the process, so I do see the path forward. The project has also (for me) finally made it to the point where I’ve started to use a task board to keep track of changes I’d like to make. Little things like input type changes, how I eventually want to format the page, etc.
I feel like I’m in a good place for the upcoming week. I know the next steps I plan to take and I have an idea of how to take them. It seems like the team is moving well too, so for another week, I’m comfortable with our position and hopeful that the project is on a trajectory to finish with plenty of time to make it nicer than “basic”.
