Forward Motion

This past week was a big family week, celebrating my grandma’s 90th birthday. That came with a lot of distractions, but luckily we’re still in the planning and setup phase. The kind of work that was necessary this past week was easier to break into small chunks that could be moved around other events. I tend to find that the larger a project becomes, the more time I have to spend “spinning up the gears” before I’m in tune with the work to be productive.

Which brings us to this coming week. We didn’t have a meeting with the sponsor this past week due to the holiday on Monday, but we still have plenty to go on and Slack has been sufficient to communicate clarifications. I think I have my development environment set up correctly now and we’re starting to go back and forth to ensure that the programs and folder structures that we have work on everyone’s computers so that we don’t have to reconfigure platform-specific files after every git pull.

Now to get into the coding itself. We have a great and super-supportive team, which should help a ton as I try to remember all of my JavaScript and Handlebars knowledge. Step one is to get routes for all the pages for a simple skeleton and to build slowly from there. Wish me luck!
