Poster boards for hanging posters will be 4 ft x 4ft. Please ensure that your poster can fit within this region.

During the abstract submission process you will be surveyed for your interest in a Sunday social event as well as travel awards.

Social event

For many participants, there will be insufficient time to return to their final destination by Sunday evening. Consequently, the 38th Crown Gall conference will end on Sunday evening with a special social event. Mark Chien, the Program Coordinator of the Oregon Wine Research Institute will take us on a guided tour of Oregon’s wineries. We will have opportunities to see an economically important host of Agrobacterium, and for those 21+, to taste uninfected hosts, after they have been processed. Our tour will end with dinner at http://www.zenithvineyard.com/the-vineyard/, which shares a location with https://stinnocentwine.com/.

Please indicate if you are interested in taking the tour. Depending on the decision from a federal agency, there may be fees ($25~$50 range) to help offset some of the costs.

Travel award

Please indicate if you wish to be considered for a travel award*. Availability will be contingent upon receiving a favorable recommendation (decision expected in late August). Preferences will be given to students and those that will give an oral presentation. Postdocs and researchers typically not associated with the conference may also apply. Applications from researchers who are members of under-represented minorities, first generation college students, veterans, and/or students with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

*Requested number of 10; support for air and ground travel, three nights lodging, and standard registration fees; potential fees for the social activity not included. Awardees will be selected based on the quality of the abstract and awards may be restricted to one per research program. Only US citizens traveling from within the US are eligible.
