This week the focus seemed to be on different tools and layers of design that could help us when prototyping, or in the early design stages. This makes sense as it lines up with what we are doing in class. It complements the work we are doing well, and there is a good variety of information to offer us a solid base. I think that these readings will prove even more useful as we progress through the term and through the design stages. The readings also seem to be building on top of each other, although I guess that is due to progression through the different books be are reading.

This week there were a lot of interesting things in the readings and videos. I really enjoyed learning about all the different ways to look at design, and thinking about the different aspects of design, and all the elements that go into designing something successful. I think when people first think about designing, or just making something in general, a lot of the time their first thought is to just make something that looks good. This weeks assignments showed that, while making something appealing visually is certainly a factor in designing something, there are also many deeper things that go into creating something that people appreciate and can connect with.
