The invention of the circular saw has revolutionized wood construction and made modern construction techniques and dimensional lumber possible. Circular saw technology has been invented several different times in various regions prior to modern globalization, and although it has come to be a highly gendered and masculine tool, there is significant evidence to suggest that  a woman is responsible to for its presence in 19th century North America (Curtis, 1973) (Dimensional, 2015) (Grey, 1996) (saw, 2015).
