A takeaway I got from the panel reviews was seeing how other people reviewed the same thing very differently. After I read a proposal and then discussed it with someone else, I realized that there were many strengths and weaknesses of the proposal that completely slipped by me that were pointed out by other reviewers. The peer review is helpful to the writer since if multiple people comment the same criticism, then it shows that it is something very important to focus on in your editing. Something else I noticed from reading peoples proposals that were missing in mine were a price break down, specific quantities for measurement, and equipment details. Those things would be very important in an actual proposal because it shows the people you are presenting to that the experiment is plausible and that you have thought out all of the minor details of performing the experiment. For example my proposal involved masks but I didn’t specify what brands I might use or include an estimated price.
