Professional development programs support students in expanding their professional skill sets and expose them to a multitude of other aspects of a chosen field.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Think of professional development as more of continuous training and education in one&#8217;s chosen career. Professional development programs offer resources and opportunities to improve professional knowledge, competence, skill, and effectiveness. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/career.oregonstate.edu\/students\">Career Development Center<\/a> (CDC) is an on-campus resource available for free to all Oregon State students. Check out the hyperlink for more information on opportunities to explore. They offer one-on-one&nbsp;appointments with advisors as well as career events and networking opportunities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is a satellite location of the Career Development Center in Wilkinson 104. It is also where you can go to register for the career fair, schedule advising appointments, and find workshops to fulfill your professional development dreams <\/li><li><strong>Aurora<\/strong> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/career.oregonstate.edu\/careered\/graduate-students\">portal <\/a>specific to graduate students and their professional development goals<\/li><li><strong>Vmock<\/strong> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vmock.com\/oregonstate\">tool<\/a> to use to check over your resume\/CV and to get individualized feedback<\/li><li><strong>Standout<\/strong> is a <a href=\"https:\/\/standout.com\">tool<\/a> for interview preparation<\/li><li><strong>GoinGlobal<\/strong> is an <a href=\"https:\/\/online.goinglobal.com\/user\/login\">online database<\/a> you can use to find internship and career opportunities abroad. The tool also includes an H1-B visa database for international students wishing to work in&nbsp;the U.S. after graduation<\/li><li><strong>Graduate certificates and minors<\/strong>: there are plenty of certifications and minors to explore on the graduate school&#8217;s website.
