While it seems that every other week different companies and brands are taking stances one way or another, there seems to be a lot of discrimination going on still within a number of prominent industries. As such, I don’t feel like this is a new occurrence, and I’ve made steps to try and remove companies that I found to be problematic or unethical from places I would shop\/eat at if possible, but sometimes it is difficult to do due to availability or pricing being such a stark contrast between them or their competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, I do believe that if you are finding yourself feeling discriminated against by a company, you have the right, but also should, boycott and try and remove yourself from being a customer there. If there is not a reasonable attempt by that company to rectify their issues with a specific demographic that you associate with, then there is little need to feel guilty about refusing to associate with them. This applies to both being a customer, but also as an employee. I would not want to work for a company that I feel does not treat me or the demographic I am a part of with respect and would do my best to take action to remove myself from it if at all possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
While this can be difficult if you need to look for another job, or they have seemingly a monopoly on products you wish to buy, I do think that maintaining one’s principles as an individual is the first step to having entire communities stand up for themselves and then using that purchasing power elsewhere as an excellent way to deliver a message to companies that they can’t get away with discrimination.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
