Hello! My name is Brandon Hernandez. This is my first blog post for my capstone project. Just want to get a little introduction posted. I’m currently living in the state of Maine, entering year four on the east coast. Lines up with my OSU journey, moved to Maine from California during the peak of the pandemic and started school just as I got here.
I guess I can get a little into what got me into programming/coding or any type of computer technology. I’m sort of dating myself here but I’m sure there are tons of age groups who are in this program. I had my first little taste of messing with computers and websites with HTML editing on MySpace, the social media website that used to dominate the internet. Customizing your profile, making it stand out and be yours. Eventually took a website design class in High School, then took a decade or so hiatus on this sort of stuff to be an electrician before jumping back into this world when joining Oregon State.
Looking at the journey we have a head of us in this class. The projects that caught my eye the most with the desired framework and time commitment etc. I would have to say the password manager and pet adoption matching site/app would be the ones I’m interested in the most. Both of these projects are full stack and seem to have relational databases involved which I got some more practice in the past few months with a personal project I worked on during the summer.
Think I’ll stop here, don’t want this to drag on. Looking forward to writing some progress here the next few months. Thanks for reading.
