Finding the correct and right job that fits you can be very difficult while job searching. When searching for the career you are looking for the job information may not be correct or even exactly based on the job descriptions. Sometimes companies don’t put the benefits or the salary of the job therefore, many individual do not want to apply because they don’t know much the position is hiring if it’s below or higher than they are worth.
I have had some experience when looking for a job that I was hired at a nursery and I was suppose to only work customer service, and there was a few requirements to lift 15 plus pounds and to work weekends, and take a class to have knowledge on plants. While I was suppose to only work on the retail side and work with the customer. My manager couldn’t handle all of the work, and therefore I started to having to order plants, and take inventory. I was hired to work part time this turned into a full time job. This was not in the job description and I was getting paid minimum wage to do more work, and not work the job I was hired. If I was fully aware and they were up front that I was hired to be an assistant I would have thought about the job, and may have enjoyed it more. But I was threw into the role, and never was asked if I could help with, and I was burnt out and unhappy.
When companies are not fully up front with the potential workers than there tends to be employee turn over because they are not happy doing more work than they are supposed to. Especially when the employee are hired because of the qualifications and requirements that the job title list. When I had my internship I actually looked at different companies within the health field to see how they compete with their competition and get more people to apply. Many individuals are more receptive if you put the benefits that comes with the jobs. There is a challenge to that because then your competitors know the benefits and can use that against you to give that employee a better benefit and pay.
Challenges-
Some other challenges could be when doing job description is to describe the position to attract individuals, it has to try and develop responsible individuals, and HR could forget to get it updated and when jobs get filled they forget to take them off. People aren’t going to want to work someone doesn’t update their job applications.
Not having them doesn’t give anyone the responsibility or the role they need to take on. Many jobs require qualifications, and not listing that you may have people who are underqualified or overqualified.
