So last week I had brought up my interview experiences thus far and left you all with a little cliffhanger with that most recent opportunity. Well, I am happy to tell ya that I was invited back for the second round of interviews with a take-home technical. So the first round was mostly a screening to make sure I knew what Python was as well as what I could be seeing myself doing at that company. All went well it was a great conversation and I was excited to hear that they thought so as well. This take-home technical is much different from the in meeting one, but I am ready to tackle it. I will be meeting again with a few of the people from the company this upcoming Monday for a code review. So I guess you’ll just have to come back again next week for the big reveal!
In other news, for the project for my Capstone class, my teammates and I met up for the first time and set some goals for the week to get our feet wet with the project. We are developing an AR pop-up storybook to enhance reading experiences with a fun interactive alternative. I am a little nervous heading into this week’s material since it will be a lot of learning new software, such as Unity/Vuphoria, and brushing up on C#. I am excited to be branching out and learning more about the vast sea of CS, but I do so with caution since I have a tendency to dive headfirst and deep when learning something new. Luckily, I have a great group to be working with and we have our own version of checks and balances to keep each other on track.
This week had a lot of exciting new surprises, with hearing back from that company as well as getting a start on my final project for my post-bacc degree. I am excited, nervous, and eager to see where the rest of this quarter leads, in terms of school as well as possible opportunities becoming a reality. Oh! I also have an interesting personal matter to bring up, but that is all the time I have for this week. So you know the drill, be ready for that next update!
