Now that you all have an introduction to how I got here I wanted to take a moment to talk about my current opportunities. So far I have had the chance to interview with a few companies, some for internships others for full-time positions and each one brought a little something different to the table.
One of my first few interviews was for a company called lucid software, based in Utah. I went in completely blind into the interview, in terms of the technical portion and with a little background into the company itself. I think it was an incredible opportunity to see where my knowledge of data structures and algorithms stood after taking the class a year ago and with no further practice. Surprisingly the technical interview went really well, or maybe it was simply an easy question! Nonetheless, it provided me a very good first experience for the technical interview.
With a first success and feeling good about that first technical interview I did the same thing going into my Tik Tok interview, no practice. And oh boy did it not go as well as the first! The first couple of questions were relatively straightforward, however, moving on to the others, I began to realize maybe I should have done some prep work.
Fast forward to now, these interviews were a couple of months ago, I am grateful for how both turned out, it gave me insight into what to expect when I begin applying again. Currently, I have two interviews coming up, both referred to by a current employee, so I have dedicated an appropriate amount of time to these two opportunities. Keep in tune for the results of those two opportunities!
