MGMT 453

While taking these three test results, I noticed a lot about myself and the way I interact with one another. In the stress of life indicator, it shows that I have a low amount of life change currently, which is leading to lower stress levels. I think that this shows that I am able to control my stress at a better rate in my younger lifestyle, as I am able to dictate what I would like to pursue with my options and opportunities. With coping with stress testing, I am at a very happy medium in my life. I found that I do a good job for the most part on using problem focused strategies to mitigate the situations at hand. Lastly, the Type A Personality test shows that I can be more temperamental, but I know how to back out of situations that could occur. Being impatient and irritable is what I can tend to strive towards, but learning that is in the sense of when I can acknowledge those things. If I am in a serious business situation, I know when to lash out and not to do that in the benefit of the company and the success. My career can be successful in taking that stress level down with my tolerance of impatience, and showing that I can have strong, and good negotiating conversations with others.

“If companies want the best out of their employees, then they need to encourage and support employees to achieve work/life balance because it’s cognitively restorative and can be a competitive advantage” (Dr Jemma King). Managing levels of stress is needed to make sure that people can continue living their lives the way they intend to, without the levels of work stress interfering. Being supportive of your employees lives and interacting with them to get on a personal level, understanding the needs of each individual and how they interact positively impacts the way an employee advances in the company.
