My experience & knowledge of an effective interview

During an interview, for volunteering for Go Green Earth Awareness program, the interviewer asked me if I practice sustainability measures at home, the public transport, my carbon footprint, asked me my knowledge of going green etc. It was more of a discussion, and I got selected. I learned and realized a few facts from this experience. Those are as follows,

One of the most important duty of an HR employee is to hire the right employees for the company. This process of hiring is done by interviewing the potential candidates to identify the confidence level, communication skills, and knowledge of the candidates. The key to conducting a successful job interview is listen more, and talk less. Asking the candidate a question, giving him a situation, and asking him to suggest some recommendations will tell the level of his expertise, and experience with that kind of job.

=> In order to evaluate the talent of the candidate, the interviewer should make sure that fist he reduces the pressure on the candidate so that the candidate could think clearly without any stress.

=> The most effective way to identify the core abilities, and skills of a candidate is to ask him his past experiences, achievements, and goals in life.

=> Efficient way to conduct an interview is by having a discussion with the candidate and not by giving him the feeling that he is currently taking an exam.

=>The whole purpose of an interview is to find out the view point and opinion of a candidate and then finding out if these opinions, skills, and expertise match with the job requirements.

Why are some interviews a failure?

An in-efficient interview is the one in which the interviewer fails to identify whether a candidate fits the job demands. Inability to convey your message, and lack of communication, planning, clarity, may be some factors that affects the interview process and makes it inefficient. If the interviewer has not thought of some questions to ask from the candidate, this also effects the efficiency of an interview process. (Clark, 2018)

In conclusion, I would suggest that the interviewer should know the job demands and look for these qualities in the candidate. On the other hand, the candidate should have done a preliminary research on the job demands and make sure that he has all the skills required for the job. An efficient interview is the done which is purposeful, clear, and concise.
