I can&#8217;t wait to get started, meet my team, and create something meaningful. But first, let me take a moment to briefly introduce myself.<\/p>\n<p>My name is Allen, and like many of my peers in the course, I entered this program as a post-bacc student in the middle of the pandemic. I was teaching ESL to adults at the time and loving it, thoroughly enjoying the opportunity to live and work abroad. However, as the pandemic slowed things down, I took that chance to reflect and ultimately decided to pivot and rekindle an old flame &#8212; computer science. Fast forward a couple of years and I&#8217;m now on the verge of earning my second degree!<\/p>\n<p>As I consider my future post-graduation, I&#8217;m still very interested in language and would be thrilled to somehow land a role in a field where language and computer science meet such as natural language processing. The meteoric rise of transformers, machine translation, and AI voice technology since I started this program has been especially inspiring.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, congratulations everybody on making it this far to the final course.
