One of the research papers we read discussed the microbial communities across body sites. Specifically the “disruption of the microbiota across multiple body sites in critically ill children.” I think it would be interesting to find more data on how the dysbiosis on the skin. Skin swabs were done to find the bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequences. I personally think it would be interesting to see if people with skin diseases or cystic acne had a different or dysbiotic skin composition. I am interested in the field of dermatology so I think this would be something I would enjoy learning about. I think it would help dermatologist implementing new strategies to treat skin diseases and disorders. There could be safer ways to treat bad acne rather than acutane possibly using the microbiota and microorganisms. This could help revolutionize the field of dermatology.
