Stressed? Well Don’t Be.

I recently stumbled upon a video that someone sent me about stress. The video said, 90% of chronic disease is caused by stress. It then went on to say you can decrease stress by doing om chanting as it stimulates the vagus nerve and this somehow leads to stress reduction.

So, I took it upon myself to look into this, and it turns out that it’s totally true. Simply, stress causes inflammation in the brain and in the body. This inflammation can cause all kinds of issues like cancer, brain disease, fatty liver, etc. The problem here is also that Americans are among the most stressed in the world with 55% reporting being stressed daily, whereas the global number for is 35%. Basically, it’s really bad and probably linked to our 4 trillion dollar healthcare costs.

The big factor in the causes of stress was being low income. It is no surprise, that not being able to get ahead financially or pay your bills has very significant impacts on not just your IQ but it is also detrimentally stressful and perhaps those two things are related. Beyond changing the way the economic system distributes wealth between worker and owner, there are some things that we can all do that would be effective and beneficial for reducing stress.

One of these things is of course drugs. Take them, take lots of them. There has been research from John Hopkins recently about the effects of psychedelics in treating stress, PTSD, and Depression among others. It turns out, these things work really well for mentally debilitating problems. I have also heard of people traveling to the jungles of Peru to engage in something called Ayuhausca ceremonies where live changing journeys occur. Literally, 80% of people who do Ayuhausca go on to make a significant change in their lives. Perhaps drugs can be good when used the right way. In ancient times these were often seen as medicines that allowed you to communicate with the otherworldly entities that they believed to be existing in different dimensions. There are also inklings that people who do DMT see similar places and so researchers are trying to get people to do DMT and map the DMT realm. However, if you are not up to the challenge, perhaps marijuana is more your thing as at low doses it is said to relieve anxiety.

The other ways to reduce stress are more widely known, exercise, meditation, writing in a diary, or just talking to people and finding a way to release some emotions. Personally, I like to meditate or play a game. When meditating, I do subharmonic chants. Subharmonics are a way to lower your voice an octave and when doing it correctly, your whole throat feels like it is vibrating and you are able to sing very low. It is much preferred to simply om chanting and it can be very fun. Not to be mistaken with Kargyrra, which is subharmonic, but it is a much stronger sound. If you’ve seen the new Dune movie, the Sardikur chants are kargyrra.
