I&#8217;m a 30 year old male living in Minnesota. I have a beautiful wife and an amazing 6 week old baby boy. These are cybersecurity challenges where you&#8217;re tasked with exploiting security vulnerabilities to find a &#8220;flag&#8221; hidden in a website, program, image, etc. There are many websites where you can learn how to get started with CTFs and there are also tournaments almost every weekend where you can form a team and compete to find the most flags over a period of a few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/6007\/files\/2022\/09\/google-ctf-banner-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14\" srcset=\"https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/6007\/files\/2022\/09\/google-ctf-banner-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/6007\/files\/2022\/09\/google-ctf-banner-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/6007\/files\/2022\/09\/google-ctf-banner-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/6007\/files\/2022\/09\/google-ctf-banner-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/osu-wams-blogs-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com\/blogs.dir\/6007\/files\/2022\/09\/google-ctf-banner.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>After dabbling with the CTFs and following some cybersecurity professionals&#8217; social media accounts I&#8217;ve discovered I want to pursue a career in penetration testing\/ethical hacking! I&#8217;ve absolutely loved the feeling of FINALLY getting that buffer overflow attack to correctly overwrite a return address and output the flag I was looking for. It feels like solving complicated puzzle, and it is a RUSH!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyhow, feel free to follow me on my journey through the Capstone course!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since this is my first post, here is a little bit about me!
