Dr. David Lee and researchers at Yale University School of Medicine were published for their study examining the prevalence of medication competition. The study looked at the following coexisting conditions: hypertension and osteoarthritis; hypertension and diabetes; hypertension and COPD; diabetes and coronary artery disease; and hypertension and depression. It was found that 22.6% of participants were being prescribed at least one medication that could worsen a coexisting health condition.
