After she joined the OSU College of Pharmacy faculty in the 1960s, she utilized her extensive compounding skills by developing the first compounding lab for the college.

In the area of drug information, Freya was a pioneer. During a sabbatical to Ohio State University (1968 to 1969), she was exposed to one of the initial thought leaders purporting that pharmacists should become experts in drug information. She returned to OSU and started the Drug Information Center, which was initially housed on the OSU campus but eventually transitioned to OHSU. Freya also served as president of OSHP from 1981 to 1982.

Freya retired in 1988, leaving a legacy of innovation and student mentoring. She lives in Portland with her husband, Richard, a retired faculty member from OSU College of Forestry.

Marvin Prince graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy from University of Washington in 1966 and with a Masters in Hospital Pharmacy from University of Iowa in 1969.

His career in hospital pharmacy is driven by his vision of clinical pharmacy and his passion to expand the clinical knowledge among new practitioners. Marvin also served on the OSU faculty for two years.

Currently the Clinical Pharmacy Coordinator at Sky Lakes Medical Center in Klamath Falls, he says establishing the clinical pharmacy program and impacting the pharmacist’s clinical role are his most significant achievements.

Marvin and his wife, Cynthia, live in Klamath Falls and have three children. They spend their free time walking with their dogs, hiking and reading.

A retired Senior Executive Sales Representative for GlaxoSmithKline, Vince has been an advocate for patient care and pharmacy education. His support of students is evident in his development of leadership programs and outstanding student leaders.

He serves on five regional boards of directors dedicated to health care including Western University School of Osteopathic Medicine and the Dean’s Advisory Council at the OSU College of Pharmacy. In 2006, he was named an honorary alumnus at OSU and served as “Dean for a Day.”
