October 17th, 2023: Hello astronomers! Since the weather is looking clear we thought it might be nice to hold a viewing on the roof of Weniger on Wednesday October 18, at 8:30 pm! Same rules as always, we’ll have signs up and someone down there at 8:30 to lead people up. If you have any sort of restriction that would prevent you from climbing stairs please DM me to let me know and we can figure that out! Hope to see you all there!🔭 🪐 ✨

October 11th, 2023: Hello Astronomers! We have an eclipse talk tomorrow with Dr. Milstein at 8:00pm in Weniger 151. Join us and learn about the eclipse we’ll be viewing on Saturday! Hope to see you all there! ☀️🌑🔭

October 10th, 2023: Hello astronomers! The Astronomy Club is holding an event to view the eclipse on October 14th from 8-9:30 AM. Join us on Peavy field where we will have eclipse glasses, and solar telescopes set up so you can have the best view of this eclipse! Don’t forget to join our discord (link is in our bio) for updates on our events! See you all there! 🌌🔭☀️🌑

October 4th, 2023: The weather is looking really nice this week so we are going to hold another viewing on Saturday! To be clear, we have one planned for Thursday (October 5th) as well as Saturday (October 7th)! Same rules apply as far as getting to the roof. Hope to see you all there! Make sure you check out our discord (linked in our bio) for updates if there are any!

October 3rd, 2023: Let’s try this again!! We’re going to attempt a viewing this Thursday on the roof of Weniger! Same rules as last time, we’ll have people in the parking lot (the one between Weniger and Gilbert) at 8pm to guide people up to the roof, otherwise you can follow some signs that will be up! This is all weather permitting, but we hope Oregon will stay nice and clear for us this week! 

September 30th- October 1st, 2023- Time for our next bracket! In case you forgot how this works, or you’re new to the page: We will post a new vote on our story everyday, leave it up for 24 hours, and announce the winner the next day! Repeat until we narrow it down to the majorities favorite! Come back everyday this week to vote for your favorite moon. The winner was Callisto!

September 28th, 2023: Hello astronomers! I am very happy to announce our first meeting of the year, which will be a rooftop viewing on September 28th at 8pm. Feel free to meet us in the Weniger parking lot at 8 where we will have people available to guide you up to the roof, or feel free follow the signs we put up! See you there! 🪐✨🔭

June 11, 2023: Come join us for the end-of-year Physics Spring Picnic this Sunday (6/11) at Avery Park! If you want to bring food scan the QR code to sign up.

June 5, 2023: We are hosting an outdoor viewing at the covered bridge at 9:30 PM, Monday June 5. Members can join us there at that time or walk over with some of the officers at 9 PM from Weniger. Feel free to bring your own scopes/equipment/binoculars. The people leaving from Weniger will gather in the Weniger parking lot. If the weather is poor, we will have an indoor meeting with origami and a viewing of “A Trip to the Moon”.

May 22, 2023: Come join us Monday, May 22nd, at 9:00pm for a presentation on the mythology of planets followed by a rooftop viewing (weather permitting)!

May 16, 2023: Rooftop viewing TONIGHT! (Weather Permitting). Join us on the roof to look through some telescopes!

May 14, 2023: This weekend we went to tour the LIGO Center and the Hanford B Reactor Center with @osu_phis and @osu_sps!! Thank you to the LIGO and Hanford B staff for such an amazing time

May 11, 2023: Join us in grabbing a stellar sandwich at Jersey Mike’s on Thursday May 11th from 4-9:00 pm for our Astronomy Club fundraiser!

May 5-10, 2023: NEW BRACKET ALERT!! Join us everyday on our story and vote for your favorite constellations. The winner was Orion!

May 8, 2023: Join us Monday May 8th at 6:30pm for a presentation on “How to get Involved in Astronomy” presented by Solar System Ambassador Erika Cook! Note the room change from 151 to 201!!

May 3, 2023: Impromptu telescope viewing TONIGHT 5/3. Meet us on the roof of Weniger at 9:00pm!

April 22-27, 2023: This weeks bracket is space movies! Go vote for your favorite space movie everyday on our story! The winner was Interstellar!

April 24, 2023: Astronomy Trivia Night! Next Monday 4/24 in Weniger 151 at 6:30! Come check it out and win some astronomy club stickers!! Can’t wait to see you all there!

April 10-15, 2023: Join us over the next week as we vote for the best planet! Voting will happen via instagram stories so be sure to check everyday to cast your vote. Saturn was our winner!
