Self Reflection

  1. What am I good at?

I would say that the thing I am best at is connecting with children. I’ve babysat/nannied/been a preschool teacher for several years, and its something that I really enjoy. When I love something, I take it seriously and become good at it. Because of this, I’ve spent ample time learning how to be the best caretaker that I can for children, and I’ve always been able to find ways to get along with each child I encounter.

  1. What do I value?

The biggest thing that I value is my family. I spend a lot of time with them, and I always want to have a good relationship with them. Outside of keeping a close bond with my family, I value my time. If I am going to do something, I want to make sure that I actually enjoy it, not just because it is expected of me. I like to delegate my time towards being around people that I love, getting outside, reading and cooking.

  1. How did I get here?

I’ve gotten to where I’m at with school because my parents have always pushed me to work hard and they’ve helped guide me towards the best course of action in my life. They are the reason that I got to go to college, and then I’ve had to motivate myself to be successful in my schooling. I’ve gotten to my position at work, because I work somewhere that I like, and I enjoy being a preschool teacher. So, I work hard to get a good paycheck, and because it makes me feel like a good member of society.

  1. Where am I going?

After graduation, I have a job lined up at another preschool. The position that I took for now pays decently, but it’s not great. However, the position above me pays phenomenally for teaching work, and so I will hopefully work my way up to that position. After that, I would like to transfer to the management side of the company, where I will be able to utilize my degree more than I am currently.
