Welcome! My name is Ana and I’ll be documenting my journey through the Capstone course at OSU via this blog.
A bit about me:
I am originally from Aurora, Colorado but now live in Austin, TX. I live with my partner, our three crazy dogs and two mischievous cats. Outside of school, I enjoyed hiking with my dogs when the weather is cool and I also like to play relaxing video games in my free time.
How I got into computers:
In high school a teacher saw potential in me and suggested I apply to engineering schools, with a specific interest in software and computer science. I have been learning off and on over the years ever since.
My OSU Experience:
My time at OSU has been challenging yet rewarding. The curriculum as well as the support from professors has helped me grow academically and personally. I look forward to graduating soon. I am on the lookout for job opportunities or internships that align with my interests and will help me grow further in my career.
Favorite Technologies:
I have a penchant for web design and enjoy the opportunity for a creative outlook. Artificial Intelligence is also intriguing and I’m interested in following it in the future. Machine learning and natural language processing are quite fascinating to me.
Course Projects:
- Secure Password Manager – I’m a big advocate for cybersecurity so the idea of developing a system that prioritizes security with features like two-factor authentication, encrypted databases, and continuous security assessments sounds like a really valuable experience.
- Active Learning & Interactive Engagement in Engineering – This project caught my attention because it aims to develop a platform for students to delve deep into engineering concepts through interactive games. Sounds like it would be a fun and enjoyable experience.
