Folks, this is my first blog entry ever.  Things have been crazy these past 2 weeks. For now,  I would just like to say that, as difficult as the past 2 weeks have been in terms of time-management and juggling of the many hats and responsibilities, I’m still thrilled to be here. I have to admit that I did overestimate myself in choosing to jump right into the first term with a full credit load after a 10-year hiatus – 2 classes, rather than 4, would definitely have been a better place to start. But I’m entirely committed at this point and refuse to turn back now.

The learning styles inventories and assesments of the last week have definitely been insightful, and have really helped me to focus on developing  some strategies for effectively and efficiently using my time.  I look forward to developing those tools further.

  1. Sorry to hear you are a little overwhelmed, Justin, but great to hear you are still enthusiastic and willing to hang in there! It is tough, but keep at it! (I hear you though, I was trying to be full-time and could only get 3/4 time because of late registration, but I am already spending SO MUCH time on my classes!)

  2. I also commend your positive attitude:) I think that sticking with it through this first term back will give you a lot of insight into whether you want to continue with full-time classes next term, or try part-time!

  3. Wow, Justin. FULL time is a challenge for online learners, even the seasoned ones. In fact, maybe it’s the seasoned ones who know to select only 2 – 3 classes 🙂

I’m glad the learning assessments offered something concrete for you to try right off the bat. Hang in there and keep trying… we’re pulling for you!
