This week I focus on reorganizing the existing code base and improving the structure to make navigation easier and reduce headaches going forward. I used AI (chatGPT) to research better nextjs practices and UI and it gave me a few UI library websites to get new components. Then I followed a guide I found in a video to implement a themeprovider to the entire project. During the entire UI library install / themeprovider setup I ran into a few bugs which I was able to solve along with AI help.
One big hurdle was figuring out some git terminal commands, to which chatGPT was a huge help. I just had to have a conversation and explain my needs and it gave me the exact commands I needed to execute the git command.
I look forward to week #5 where I can fully integrate my code after everyone else pushes their newest changes. I hope I don’t run into any bugs and everything stays smooth throughout the transition. Also the new UI libraries are a godsend and I hope to be far more productive with them in mind. Looking to make some significant progress this week.
